Product Review: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I purchased this eyelid primer because I want my eye makeup to lasts long. I had this problem for years and I don’t know what to do. When I’ve seen this in several makeup tutorials, I’ve decided to try it out. So here’s my review.

Product Name: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Color: Original

Product Description: The most legendary primer in the beauty industry! Eyeshadow Primer Potion is coveted by makeup artists and makeup junkies alike because it guarantees more vibrant eyeshadow that lasts for 24+ hours and NEVER CREASES! Once you experience its powers (plus how smoothly it glides on – an added bonus) you’ll never want to live without it.

Fill Weight: 11ml e 0.37 US fl oz

Price: I got this for Php 1450.00. (yikes!)

My Personal Experience on this Product

Color:  The original shade has light beige or somewhat nude color; almost invisible on the lids when it dries so it’s perfect for any skin tone.

Texture:  Its creamy, smooth and feels silky when blended on the lids. It also dries quickly when applied, thus it doesnt give that sticky feeling.

Staying Power: It really holds my eyeshadow for hours and it doesn’t really crease all day. I have combination/oily skin, and yet it keeps my eye makeup looking bright and beautiful.

Packaging:  It now comes in an easy-to-squeeze tube so that application can be controlled. I think this will also help in not getting wasted when you’re running low.

Pros:
·         Doesn’t crease and blends well
·         Easy to apply
·         Lasts long
·         Makes my eye makeup look more vibrant
·         Small amount is enough to cover the entire lid
·         Smooth on skin

Cons:
·         A bit pricey
·         Not available here in the Philippines, I just bought this from an online shop.

Will I repurchase this product? Yes! No second thougts. Grab it now dolls! It’s definitely worth it. J

Overall rating: 4.8/5
Final verdict? I’m in love with this primer! It brings out the vibrant colors of my eyeshadow and it really lasts long. This is a must-have for a good investment.

Have you tried this out? What are your other primers? I’m glad if you’ll let me know.

Product review: NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Dare

Today I’m gonna review on one of different kinds of NYX blushes. I got this from NYX Cosmetics Supplier by Samsville last week and this is one of the products I’ve added on my NYX haul post. I’ve said earlier that I will make separate posts on those items so here’s the first one!

Product Name: NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Dare

Product Description: “NYX Mosaic Powder Dare is great highlighter with a nice glowing effect for your eyes and cheeks. The fusion of five shades can be used independantly or blended together for your skin's perfect match.

Price: Php 320.00

My Personal Experience on this Product

Color: Dare has coral peachy shade with little shimmers on it. It’s very pretty and when blended well will give you pinkish, bronzy-peach color. Its really pigmented and can also be used either blush or bronzer.

Texture: It feels fine, smooth and it definitely blends easily on my cheeks. Though they tend to be very powdery when swirled to get a good combination. Anyway, you can always tap it the excess before applying.

Packaging: It’s simple which comes in black, plastic container. It’s lightweight, great for travelling and for touchups.

I love how it gives glow on my face! Really pretty colors, perfect for everyday use.  I will recommend this to fair or medium skin tone. If you want natural looking cheeks, this should be yours to take!  Love, LOVE IT!

What other NYX blushers can you recommend? I’d love to hear that!

Just got lucky: Charm Bracelet from SugarPao (Sponsored by TinyPinkBow)

Last month I joined Whimsical whatnots & whatever on her TinyPinkBow giveaway, and just last week I received an email that I won!!  Because of so many giveaways I’ve entered, I forgot what will be the prize. Haha. And when I checked it, surprisingly it was a customized charm bracelet! Yehey!

Well, supposedly I should share lots of pictures when I  finally got my charm bracelet but my camera messed up and got a virus. Dang! I lost all of my photos, including my posts on this one. Anyways, enough of the drama and let’s move on. Lol

So here they are! I received 5 bead straps, a chain strap and 5 charms. All of these are picked by me! I’ve chose white, sky blue, pink, purple and brown color of bead straps so that they can compliment my outfits.

She also gave me a mini letter; awww, so sweet  of her.. J

It comes with a felt pouch too..

The good thing on TinyPinkBow Jewelry online shop is that you can personalized your charm bracelet. I actually find it hard to pick which charms to use because all of them are so adorable and super cute. So I’d like to share with you why I’ve chosen these ones.

ü  Moon – I just have a fond of moon shaped things. Perfect when stargazing.
ü  Dog – literally, i love dogs!! We actually have like 10 of them.
ü  Heart – because i love heart shapes. Hahaha, I actually have a necklace with heart locket.
ü  Key – ahm, so that maybe someone can open the key to my heart. Cheesy!
ü  Meshed or Zigzag – I actually dont know what this is called. It supposed to be a butterfly charm but I guess they dont have that anymore. It’s cute though. J

Here it is when worn.

Sorry for my oily face. haha! No makeup here.

So that’s it! I really like it Sugar and TinyPinkBow! I’m definitely recommending TinyPinkBow Jewelry shop. They have wide array of accessories you can choose from and very affordable. If you’re interested, visit their online shop at http://tinypinkbow.blogspot.com/.  I’m sure you will enjoy choosing on those cute stuff.

NYX Haul

Hey dolls! This is my latest NYX package I purchased from NYX Cosmetics Supplier by Samsville. I got these babies coz my friend Sam said that it will be for sale. But since I have a lmited budget on buying stuff, I only got four of them, and I’d to make sure I will order some for my lips, my cheeks and my eyes.

So for just  a quick view, let me show you what I got.

See how fully wrapped this package is!
Came with a cute yellow design pouch.

Wow its on a bubble wrapped. nice!

So here they are!

From L-R: Sunflower, Trio e/s, Mosaic powder blush in Dare, Antwerp

For a clearer view of them, here’s:

Everybody in the online shop is raving on this product, so I got influenced and found out that this is said not a lipstick nor a lipgloss. Interesting right? So since I want a coral peachy shade, I’ve chose Soft matte lip cream Antwerp for around Php 230.00. I’ll just made a product review about this soon.

This is on my NYX wishlist because I’ve watch Xteeener, my makeup guru on Youtube, used a lot of these shades. These are barely there, champagne and rootbeer. I got this for Php 250.00 I guess. I’m not sure if I can work it out on my makeup routines. Wish me luck dear!

Like I’ve said earlier, I want something for my cheeks, so I’ve bought a mosaic powder blush in Dare. I think it’s price is around Php320.00, more than enough for its 5 different colors. Need to work on blending these shades. Lol

Ohh I got frustrated when I ordered a round lipstick, it’s supposed to be haute melon shade but it’s out of stock so I need to replace it with other color. So I skimmed on my list, and since I want an orange one, I’ve came across this shade, round lipstick in sunflower. I actually tried it on my lips immediately after opening it. Its like orange-red color as a matter of fact. I don’t know, maybe I can deal with it. The price is Php 130.00, not so bad for a 2nd choice lipstick. kiddin!

Sorry for those blurry pictures. Anyways, I’ll just make a separate post on their swatches and reviews soon. So that’s it.

Can’t wait on Samsville’s next sale preorder! J

Swatches and Reviews: NYX Tea Rose, Louisiana and Snow White Round Lipsticks

I owe this post like weeks ago, anyway better late than never. LOL

First of all, I’ve bought these NYX lippies on an online shop, courtesy of NYX Cosmetics Suppleir by Samsville

I’ve never tried this brand before but I got a little bit carried away on my bored life leading me into “window” shopping in several online shops. They have so many shades to choose from, no wonder I have a hard time picking the right color for my skin tone. In the end I was convinced to try out 3 shades because of so many reviews on them;  they are Tea Rose, Louisiana and Snow white.

From L-R: Tea rose, Louisiana, Snow white

Believe me, the color images are not quite fair on the actual shade you can get when you swatch them, which is really a risk on buying stuff online. Yeah, maybe you can get the shade that  you want or in the end, you’ll just be disappointed. But a big NO in this case. You'll see what I mean.

Swatches on my arm

Just to see the difference, here’s my bare lips for the comparison.

So for the first lippy, let’s get on NYX Tea Rose.
The color is kind of a pinky coral shade (which is almost closer to my lip color).  It has no shimmer or frost, instead it gives a satin finish. No doubt it’s their top selling lipstick. I think it will brighten up fairer skin complexion.

Next is NYX Louisiana.
Oh Gosh! When I’ve tried this out, it gives me the ohhh feeling. Its pretty bright pink color is so flattering. I’m very pleased in buying this one, its really a beautiful pink shade. It’s also very pigmented, so one swipe is enought to give an opaque coverage.

Lastly is the NYX Snow white (said to be the best red lipstick ever!)
Thank God I’ve bought this for my red lippy collection. This one looks brownish if swatched on my arm, but when applied on my lips it gives a deep scarlet red. It’s really lovely and luscious, perfect red for my lips.

My personal experience on them:

Color/coverage: From a wide array of beautiful shades (I think around 140 shades), these three are really the best. They’re pigmented and more opaque, very pretty.

Staying power, texture: They’re quite creamy honestly and glides smoothly when applied. The advantage here is that its not drying, but the downside is that it’s not long lasting. Maybe you’ll need to reapply this around 2-3 hours, so always bring them for touchups.

Tip: To prolong the wear, when I apply the lipstick, I blot it on a tissue.

Scent: I think I will empahsize on this one, coz I’ve read a lot of reviews saying that its scent is like that of plastics or chemicals, but  in my case, not really.

Packaging: They’re housed in a sleek black tube with white design. It still looks pretty and simple which is kind of appealing to young women. Also in the base, you can easily identify the color of the lipstick which matches the color inside the tube.  Names/labels are on the top part, which is fun and entertaining, not like some lipsticks which only use codes/numbers.

Price: I’ve got this for Php 130.00 each which is kinda cheap for great shades of colors.

Over-all rating: 4.5/5
NYX Lipsticks are really awesome, especially for the price. Maybe they’re not long-lasting, but you can always bring them for reapplication. I will definitely purchase more shades of these lovely lippies.

What do you think? Have you tried this out yet? Share your thoughts. I’d love to read them.

August Favorites

ELF Studio Flat Top Powder Brush

This is my first ever ELF Brush and I used this as exactly what it was named for. I love it and I still do! Even though it’s synthetic, the bristles are soft and dense. It’s so great for my blushes.

Revlon Photoready Two way Powder Foundation

I always use this as my foundation instead of the liquid type, it’s so easy to apply and gives my skin poreless and natural look. Love it!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow

The specific shade I love here is the Cinnamon which is goldish brown color. The palette itself has lots of neutral colors,  I just combine them and gives me a natural look. Great for everyday makeup routine!

Maybelline Expertwear Blush in Precious Pink/Rose

I love how this blush gives my cheeks stunning glow! Its color is a shade of pink with a little shimmer on it. Obviously on the picture, I’ve really been using this blush a long time ago and still using it to brighten up my pale skin.

NYX Round Lipstick in Tea Rose

This is definitely my favorite shade of lipstick, coz it’s light pink with satin finish. It’s also moisturizing not like other lipstick that gives you dry lips at the end of the day. But I can’t deny the fact that they dont last long and needs reapplication, anyway I think I can work on it.

Blistex Lip Balm in Medicated Berry

What I like about this product is because it comes with SPF, even when its windy outside, it really protects my lips. With this magic lipbalm, my lips continue to feel moisturize. I will never stop buying Blistex.

What about you dolls? What are your favorites? Share them to me. I'd love to hear them from you.
